Service 07 · Pay-Per-Click advertising

Reach buyers who are ready today, not someday.

PPC management services from a consultant paid a fixed fee, never a percentage of your spend. Google Ads built on buyer searches, with conversion tracking in place before a penny goes out.

Is this you?

Spending on Google Ads and not sure what you got for it.

  • 01

Your account was set up with Google's recommended defaults: broad match, "maximise clicks", display expansion. Most of the spend is going to people who will never buy.

  • 02

Ads send everyone to the home page, and the home page does not ask for anything.

  • 03

Conversion tracking was never set up, so "results" means clicks.

  • 04

An agency runs it for a percentage of spend, which means they are paid more when you spend more.

  • 05

You paused ads once and could not tell whether business got worse.

Pay-per-click is the fastest channel there is and the easiest to waste. The difference between an account that returns three to one and one that returns nothing is usually structure, tracking and the landing page, not the budget.

How I do this differently

Buyer keywords, real tracking, and a landing page built for the click.

Every PPC management engagement starts with finding the waste. The search terms report in most accounts I take over shows a third or more of the spend on searches that could never become a customer. Turning that off is the first result, usually in week one.

A good Google Ads specialist tracks conversions first; a click without one is a rumour. Calls, forms, bookings and purchases tracked before the first pound is spent, so every keyword is judged on what it produced. This is where "results" stop meaning clicks.

Ads and SEO share the same page. The landing page I build for the ad is the page that ranks later, and the keywords that convert in ads become the SEO targets. Which one to start with depends on your timeline, and I will tell you honestly.

What I will not do
  • Charge a percentage of your ad spend. My fee does not go up when your bill does.
  • Run broad match and automated everything and call it strategy.
  • Send traffic to a page that does not convert.
  • Report clicks, impressions or "reach" as results.
  • Keep spending when the numbers say stop.
What you actually get

What PPC management services include, by month.

Month 1

  • Account audit: search terms, match types, wasted spend, tracking, landing pages, settings that leak budget.
  • Conversion tracking for calls, forms and purchases, verified with test submissions.
  • Campaigns rebuilt around buyer searches with exact and phrase match, negatives in place, the leaky defaults switched off.
  • One landing page per campaign with the offer, the proof and the ask in the first screen.

Months 2 to 3

  • Weekly search term reviews and bid adjustments by device, location and time.
  • Ad copy tests, two at a time, with a winner declared on conversions.
  • Landing page changes based on what the traffic actually does.
  • Cost per enquiry and cost per customer reported, by campaign, with a stop rule for what is not working.

Month 4 onward

  • Scale what returns, cut what does not, monthly.
  • Remarketing and shopping campaigns only where the numbers justify them.
  • Converting keywords handed to the SEO work so you stop paying for them eventually.
  • A monthly call where we look at cost per customer together and decide the budget from it.
What it costs

A fixed monthly management fee agreed in writing, not a percentage of spend. For context, small businesses typically pay $500 to $750 a month for management on top of spend, and percentage models take 10% to 20% of spend with a $500 minimum; the ad spend itself goes to Google from your own account. You get my number, with the hours, before you commit.

How long it takes

Wasted spend stops in week one. A rebuilt account with tracking usually shows a clear cost per enquiry by week four and a stable cost per customer by month three, which is when scaling decisions become safe.

How we start

A free look at your site first. Then a fixed monthly scope in writing, with the hours behind it, and you talk to me every time. What this costs in the market, by country and provider, if you want the numbers first.

What a typical takeover looks like

An account with clicks and no customers, rebuilt in thirty days.

Illustrative, not a named client: a home services company spending $3,000 a month, "results" reported as 900 clicks. The search terms report shows spend on job seekers, DIY questions and towns outside the service area. Month one: those searches excluded, campaigns rebuilt on exact-match buyer terms, call and form tracking installed, one landing page per service with the phone number first. Same budget, fewer clicks, and for the first time a number for what an enquiry costs. From there, the budget is decided by the cost per customer, not by habit.

Before you hire anyone for this

Questions to ask, including me.

The answers you should hear are in brackets. If you get something else, keep looking.

  1. How are you paid?A fixed fee. Ask any Google Ads consultant the same: a percentage of spend rewards spending, not results.
  2. What is my cost per enquiry today, and how do you know?A number, from conversion tracking they can show you. If tracking is not set up, that is the first job, not a later one.
  3. Where do the ads send people?A page built for that search, with the ask in the first screen. If it is the home page, the budget is leaking.
  4. What is in my search terms report? They should be able to show you the wasted searches and the negatives added this month.
  5. When would you tell me to stop spending?A clear rule tied to cost per customer. If nobody would ever say stop, they are managing the spend, not the business.
FAQ

PPC questions you might have.

Which ad platforms do you run?

Google Ads (Search, Display & Shopping) and Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram) are the core two, the right mix depends on whether you're chasing existing search intent or generating new demand.

How much should I budget for ads?

It depends entirely on your industry, competition and cost per acquisition target, there's no universal number. Part of the initial audit is giving you a realistic budget range based on your specific market.

Do you guarantee a specific ROAS?

No, auction dynamics, seasonality and market conditions all move the number, and anyone promising a fixed return isn't being straight with you. What I commit to is proper tracking, disciplined testing and transparent reporting on what's actually happening.

Do you build the landing pages too?

Yes, sending paid traffic to a generic homepage is one of the most common ways budget gets wasted. Landing page strategy and structure are part of the campaign build, not an afterthought.

Should I do SEO or PPC first?

If you need traffic now, PPC. If you're building for the long term, SEO compounds better over time. Most businesses end up running both. PPC for immediate pipeline while SEO builds underneath it. See the full SEO service →
